OSCE Minsk Group held a working meeting in Krakow. Co-Chairs discussed the revised Madrid Principles to be further presented to the sides, under OSCE Co-Chair Presidents Dmitry Medvedev, Barack Obama, Nicolas Sarkozy’s order.

The Co-Chairs informed of the impending visit to the region in September and did not rule out the possibility of Nagorno-Karabakh issue to be settled till the end of 2009.

This was the last meeting of incumbent Co-Chairs. It is expected that Matthew Bryza and Yuri Merzlyakov will resign as the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs till the end of the year. Perhaps, Bryza will assume the position of U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Currently, there is no information on Merzlyakov’s further appointment.
