The RA Parliament member Khachtur Sukiasyan, who has been on the wanted list for over a year, is most unlikely to give himself up to law-enforcers, the lawyer Artur Grigoryan told News.am.

Grigoryan said that a number of factors prevent the opposition parliamentarian from making this step. First, a petition for a change of restraint imposed on Sukiasyan (arrest) has been rejected. The most important factor is, however, that “if the parliamentarian gives himself up before July 31, one can get the impression that he committed a crime and wants to be amnestied.” “But Khachatur Sukiasyan is innocent and is not going to play the game being forced upon him,” Grigoryan said.

On June 19, the Armenian Parliament declared an amnesty for persons that will appear before law-enforcers before July 31.

Khachtur Sukiasyan is a supporter of Armenia’s first president and opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan. After the March 1-2, 2008, events he was put on the wanted list.
