March 12, Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus Kirill I received RA Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan.

In the course of the meeting diplomat called relations with Russia “paramount strand of Armenia’s foreign policy,” RA FM Press service informed NEWS.am

“I am confident that historical fundament of our relations is primarily commonality of historical origin of our nations and spiritual oneness that predetermined political course of Armenia and Armenians toward Russia and Russian nation. This is a result of centuries-long pursuit of political, moral and cultural orientation of our people,” Yesayan said.

Russian dignitary expressed accord with the idea that both churches “should do their utmost to strengthen the system of spiritual values,” adding that his impending visit to Armenia (March 16-18) will assist the enhancement of common system of values, friendship and cooperation between the people of both nations.

Hopefully the visit will do my mite to our common and crucial cause, Kirill I concluded.
