Azerbaijani National Security Ministry officers detained 8 members of radical religious group that planned to carry out mass terrorist attacks in the country.

There are Russian, Dagestan and Chechnya citizens among the arrested, Azerbaijani sources in law enforcement informed Interfax. As a result of preliminary investigation it became known that suspects planned to stage terrorist attacks in Baku, thus they delivered large amount of weapons to Azerbaijan.

Presently investigation on arrest of other group members is carried out. According to recent data, Azerbaijani National Security Ministry drafts an official statement on the matter.
