South Ossetia intends to demand return of “indigenous Ossetian lands”- Truso gorge, currently in Georgia, Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity stated, RIA Novosti reports.

“We have very crucial territorial issues to raise and we are going to address them. Truso gorge, currently in Georgia Mtskheta-Mtianeti — is indigenous Ossetian land that under unclear circumstances in Soviet regime somehow moved to Georgian SSR administrative control. Today we have to lay out the issue of Ossetian lands return”, Kokoity said.

According to him Ossetian territory in Soviet times was diminishing while Georgian SSR was growing. “These unique places where renowned people of our nation were born are today a Georgian territory. Actually it is a South Ossetian territory, but taking into account that Leninogorsk region I fully controlled by us, we will raise these issues”, Kokoity concluded.
