Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt welcomed the Turkish Ambassador’s return to Stockholm, Turkish Hurriyet daily reports referring to the AFP News Agency.

Fredrik Reinfeldt welcomes her return to Sweden. It is good that diplomatic relations with Turkey are maintained, PM’s Spokeswoman Roberta Alenius stated.

March 30, Turkish Ambassador to Sweden Zergun Koruturk arrived in Stockholm. Before her departure, she told reporters in Ankara her return to Sweden became possible after the Swedish Government distanced itself from the Parliament’s decision.

The Swedish PM later apologized to Ankara, and Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the move “very positive.” Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt also said that Government’s position on Turkey's admission to the EU remains unchanged.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with his Swedish counterpart, as well as with some Turkish representatives living in Sweden, so the sides have been involved in this. “We are in good relations with Turkey and want this to continue,” Alenius said.
