Former Secretariat General of Turkish National Security Council (MGK) Sukru Sariisik was arrested in Turkey charged with planning a coup d'etat.

Earlier, overall 75 military men were arrested in Turkey on a charge of Sledgehammer action plan, a conspiracy to destabilize the government.

According to the documents published by Turkish Taraf newspaper, Sledgehammer action plan comprised another 4 programs and after their implementation coup d’etat would be staged. The plan provided for the explosion of a mosque at the Friday prayer, landing of fighter aircrafters in Aegean Sea. The mentioned actions had to reveal weaknesses of ruling Justice and Development party.
