Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy discussed Armenian-Turkish relations in the course of April 7 meeting.

According to Turkish Sabah, Sarkozy accepted Erdogan’s invitation to visit Turkey. Premier noted that Turkey’s only aim is full membership to EU. French President also touched upon sanctions imposed against Iran, however Erdogan expressed confidence that the issue should be settled through negotiations. Sarkozy assured Turkish Premier that France will support Turkey in its fight against terrorism, and PKK in particular.

Armenia-Turkey relations were also in focus of the talks. French President offered his assistance to reconciliation with Armenia, noting that he is ready to make efforts to ease the process, emphasizing the ratification of Armenia-Turkey Protocols.
