An exhibit of Daniel Varoujan Hejinian’s art opens at the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA). The retrospective includes the collection of Armenian Genocide commemorative billboards which he has displayed every year since 1996.

Each year through his works he calls for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. This year’s the message states “Yes, We Can Recognize the Armenian Genocide.”

Varoujan is the son of Armenian Genocide survivors who fled to Syria during the events of April, 1915. He got education in Soviet Armenia and left for the U.S. in 1979. Varoujan’s art work has been exhibited in many prestigious art galleries throughout the U.S. and it is represented in private and corporate collections around the world.
