On August 1, 2009 Georgia fired at South Ossetian watch post. No victims and injured were reported.

South Ossetian Defense Minister Yuri Tanayev stated that today, around 9:25 a.m., the Ditsi village posts of Georgia launched two grenades at the watch post in Eredwi village.

The Georgian side did not comment on the incident.

Anyhow, it is not the first incident in last several days. On the night of July 30, 2009, Tskhinvali was fired from the Nikozi village positions. Luckily, no-one was harmed.

South Ossetian Foreign Minister Murat Jioyev told Interfax that Georgia did not learn a lesson from the past and goes on beefing up its military presence near South Ossetian borders.
