Kyrgyz interim government refuses to offer any compromise to the ousted President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, Head of the Kyrgyz provisional government Roza Otunbayeva stated at an April 14 meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake.
“Bakiyev has exceeded the limits of his immunity by spilling blood and now he must be brought to trial and answer before the law,” AFP quotes Otunbayeva. According to her, the President’s relatives and supporters had to stand court as well.
The provisional government is ready to hold talks with Bakiyev, Otunbayeva said adding that the latter realizes his position and is ready for the talks, however the format of the meeting should be elaborated.
According to new Kyrgyz leader, presently Bakiyev is in Jalalabad region, being protected by almost 500 armed supporters.
