Baku elaborated the IDP ‘Great Return Project’ for NKR territory once it is “liberated”, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, Ali Hasanov informed.

“Fulfillment of the project depends on political situation in the region and Karabakh conflict settlement. We are ready for the process that will launch once the peace agreement is signed,” he declared.

Hasanov said the project was agreed with various international and financial organizations, as well as with embassies. Ministerial and state committee feedback had been considered. “All aspects have been covered in the project: mine clearing, infrastructure reconstruction, implementation of new economic projects, return of IDPs to their homeland, creation of workplaces, etc.,” he specified.

According to Hasanov, Great Return Project is estimated at U.S. $60bl, however the amount might be revised after the project launch.
