Military and military-technical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan expands under the two states’ presidential instructions, Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said at August 1 meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Aliyev voiced hope in further fortification of military and military-technical bilateral cooperation, that is permanently discussed at meetings with his Russian counterpart.

Serdyukov underlined significance of his visit in terms of fruitful exchange of opinions on collaboration prospects.

At the meeting with Serdyukov on Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Azeri Defense Minister Safar Abiyev said Russia’s efforts in peace process are highly appreciated and inspire hope. Abiyev declared Azerbaijan will call in the militarize in case talks with Armenia fail.
