A new Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Michael Lavon-Lotem realizes peculiarities and complexities of the Caucasian region and “would look after his own business”, he stated August 3, 2009 in the interview with Israeli IzRus portal.

“Caucasus is a complicated region, and it has to be kept in mind. As I am an Israeli, and Middle East is not a resort, I acknowledge how to behave. The main rule is to look after one’s own business”, new appointed Ambassador stated.

Lavon-Lotem also stated he will work toward the normalization of Israel-Azerbaijan relations, increase of mutual trade turnover and enhance the partnership.

“We Israelis hate being indicated what to do and how to deal with problems. And others will hardly like to be heaped with unasked advice. I realize well enough the situation in Caucasus is non-standard, Azerbaijan’s location is complex, that is why I am going to look after my own business,” Lavon-Lotem outlined.
