Levon Zurabyan, Coordinator of the ANC office, believes that Armenia is facing serious challenges, but the country’s authorities are not taking any relevant steps.

According to him, among the challenges is the economic crisis, which “is not so acute now only due to the funds given to the country by international financial institutions. But this implies concessions in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process”. Among the challenges he included the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process as well as the growing threats of war issued by Azerbaijan.

Zurabyan also said that the authorities are not proposing any relevant measures to meet the challenges. “That would be the unification of the Armenians, but the authorities are not making any efforts. Among the steps would be releasing political prisoners, establishing a dialogue with the public and with the Opposition and informing them of the negotiations,” Zurabyan said.

He refused to make any comments on today’s statement by Hovsep Khurshudyan, a member of the Heritage Party. The latter said that the Heritage Party is not going to support any candidates any more.
