President of the Senate of Romania Dan Mircea Geoană held a meeting on May 6 with the newly appointed Armenian Ambassador to Romania Hamlet Gasparyan. The press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed NEWS.am that Ambassador Gasparyan outlined the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy and tasks facing the country.
Mircea Geoană made a high appraisal of the Armenian-Romanian dialogue and stated his willingness to contribute to the development relations between the two Parliaments.
Among promising fields of cooperation he included the EU Eastern Partnership and Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC). Mircea Geoană expressed hope tension will soon be eased in the South Caucasus, the region’s potential will be fully realized and Armenia will be involved in multilateral economic projects.
