Krabakh’s position should be reflected in any final agreement on Karabakh conflict settlement, OSCE MG CO-Chair Matthew Bryza told the APA Azerbaijani agency. He reminded of the fact that Karabakh Armenians participated in the negotiations till 1998 but former Armenian Government decided that official Yerevan will negotiate on behalf of the Karabakh side. It was Armenia’s decision. Mutual agreement of Baku and Yerevan is necessary for this decision to be changed.

Referring to Moscow meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, Bryza outlined that the quality of the discussion was better than previous negotiations. Presidents look forward to settle the differences, however it does not mean everything was soft. “The criticism, particularly in Armenia, that President Sargsyan or Foreign Minister Nalbandyan are somehow making unilateral concessions, is ridiculous. I think that probably Aliyev would love it if there were such unilateral concessions. But if you are going to give in negotiations you expect to take something in return. So this is give and take – there are no unilateral concessions,” he said.

Speaking about fundamental principles, the Co-chair underlined that “nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.” They keep on negotiating “but then have to go back sometimes to reconsider which was already partially agreed before. So, all the issues are interacting, they’re all interrelated,” he concluded, adding: “But all the Basic Principles, just about all of them, in fact all of them, are agreed in a fundamental way. But the details require still some work.”
