Turkey is geographically the natural part between Caucasus and Middle East and it has a big responsibility in relations between regional states, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told at the joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul, Zawya website reports.

“If we look today at the Syrian-Turkish relations, the Syrian-Iranian relations, Turkish-Iranian relations, Turkish-Armenian relations, and now the relations between Syria and Azerbaijan and Armenia, we will find that these relations are developing from the Caucasus to the Middle East,” Bashar al-Assad said, expressing hope that in next ten years “we will see a much better map than the current one in which we live in.”
