A solution to the Armenian Cause is easier than it seems, Turkish Ambassdor to U.S. Namik Tan stated at a meeting with students at Harvard University.
Asked about the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915, Tan said that Armenian citizens do not know Turks. The two nations live in the same geographical region. Armenians came to this area before Turks. The younger generation of Armenians knows Turks due to some stories. Turks have not properly introduced themselves, Turkishjournal reports, referring to Ambassador Tan.
According to him, the two nations have lots of things in common. The two nations’ traditions, clothing and many other things are similar, he stressed.
According to the Hurriyet daily, the Turkish Foreign Ministry gave a special instruction to Turkish diplomats outside Turkey to present their stances on the Armenian Cause. This is the most likely reason why Namik Tan delivered a speech at Harvard University.
