Knesset MP Aryeh Eldad asked the chairman of the House Committe to investigate the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire at the beginning of 20th century after the April 28 vote to hold a hearing on the issue, Arutz Sheva reports.

According to the MP, “the matter has not been heard and should not be allowed to be swept under the rug”, the source says.

Armenian Genocide is the first genocide of the 20th century. It is recognized by many countries, including Uruguay, Russia, France, Lithuania, the majority of U.S. states. Turkey rejects accusations of mass killings of Armenian population during World War I.
