Since he was elected Chairman of the Turkish Republican People's Party (RPP) on May 22, Kemal Kilicdaroglu has for the first time met Turkish Premier Recep Erdogan.

The Milliyet daily reports that, after shaking hands, the two voiced criticism against each other.

The Turkish Premier advised Kilicdaroglu not to give promises if he is unable to keep them. “When you speak, tell about how you are going to do it,” Erdogan said. “You go away, and we will see what can be done. If you love Turkey, tell us about how to normalize the situation,” he said.

In response, Kilicdaroglu admitted much has been done under Erdogan’s premiership. He reminded him, however, that a broken watch shows the right time twice a day.

According a survey conducted by the SONAR company, after Kemal Kilicdaroglu was elected RPP Chairman, Erdogan’s party has for the first time been ranked second over the last eight years.
