EU is directly involved in seeking different ways of protracted conflicts settlement in eastern neighboring countries, EU Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) High Representative Javier Solana stated, Gazeta.ru informs. According to him EU plays an important role in international Geneva meetings on Georgian issue.

“We take part in the &‘5+2’ format talks in Transdniestria and entirely support OSCE MG position in Karabakh issue”, Solana said, adding “EU Special Representatives with international partners and all concerned on South Caucasus and Moldova issues often visit the region assisting the conflicting parties to settle the issues.”

“We are confident all efforts directed to various conflicts settlement should be on schedule of the current talks. Moreover, &‘Eastern Partnership’ multinational format makes good opportunity to discuss these issues”, he concluded.
