The 11th round of the international discussions on security in the South Caucasus will be held in Geneva on June 8. Delegations from Georgia, Russia, U.S., Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as representatives of EU, UN and OSCE, will participate.

The participants will discuss the current situation on the Abkhazian and South Ossetian borders with Georgia, elaboration of joint mechanisms to prevent and respond to border incidents. The Georgian side intends to draw attention to human rights violations in the conflict zone in the country, News Georgia reports, referring to Georgian Deputy FM David Jalagania.

According to Jalagania, two work groups will consider the issue of using international security mechanisms in the occupied territories, with police and peacekeeping missions to be involved.

The Abkhazian side plans to raise the question of Georgia’s responsibility for aggravating the situation in the Gal region.

The South Ossetian delegation intends to open an issue of Georgia’s adherence to the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreement, draft agreement on non-use of force, humanitarian issues, problem of the missing citizens, crossing borders, etc.
