Any interference or pressure on any party to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is very risky, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin stated at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Putin stressed Russia would not like Azerbaijan and Armenia to say they are being pressurized, the Turkish TRT channel reports.
According to him, Armenia and Azerbaijan should solve the conflict themselves. Russia and other countries are ready to provide them with necessary assistance. Russia cannot force the parties to make a decision and exert pressure on them, Putin said.
Both parties bear responsibility for resolving the conflict, and they should conduct a dialogue, Putin said. He pointed out a resolution acceptable to both sides should be reached.
Other countries can only act as mediators. Patience is needed as the issue is very complicated, Putin said.
