On June 9, Turkish National Education Minister Nimet Cubukcu attended the school-leaving ceremonies in several Armenian schools in Istanbul and personally awarded Armenian students with school certificates.
Nimet Cuband stated the Turkish National Education Ministry provided Armenian schools with books, with some of them published in Armenian, CNNturk reports.
According to her, the problems in schools of ethnic minorities in Turkey will soon be solved.
One of the major problems is the lack of Armenian teachers for overall 2,600 students in 22 Armenian schools, and relevant measures are taken to resolve them, the Minister said.
Interestingly, it is the first time in history that Turkey’s education minister participates in such a ceremony.
