“Yesterday’s meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents was regular one, I personally have no special expectations from it,” Hertiage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan told NEWS.am, commenting on the recent trilateral meeting in Saint Petersburg.
According to her, negotiations with the conflicting parties’ participation and a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict are desirable for both the Armenian and Azerbaijani people. “A peaceful settlement is desirable for both sides, the point is to exclude hostilities,” she added.
As to the efficiency of Karabakh peace process, Postanjyan stated that Armenia’s achievements would be more tangible if “our diplomacy was focused on the international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh. The issue on resettlement of the liberated territories should be solved by means of a state program,” Postanjyan stressed.
June 17, an Armenian-Azerbaijani-Russian presidential meeting took place in Saint Petersburg.
