EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby will discuss the Karabakh peace process, upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, energy issues and cooperation with the EU with Azerbaijani leadership during his visit to Baku next week, Azerbaijani trend agency reports.

Semneby will be on a visit to Azerbaijan June 29 to July 1.

Earlier, Peter Semneby was on a visit to Armenia. He called the June 18 Azerbaijani provocation “a deplorable event”, which is evidence of tension along the contact line.

On June 18, an Azeri task force intruded into the Nagorno-Karabakh territory. An resultant encounter killed four Armenian soldiers, leaving four injured. The Azeri task force retreated, leaving one dead.
