The Armenian authorities should clearly say: as long as Turkey and Azerbaijan maintain Armenia’s economic blockade, Armenia will not agree to the international sanctions on Iran, Hayk Balanyan, a Sardarapat movement member, stated at the June 24 press conference.

According to him, Iran is the only country interested in the regional stability and peace.

“Today we came to an upshot when Iran is the only country to preserve regional status quo is, all the others try to upset the current status quo some way,” Balanyan said, stressing the methods are different. “Evidence thereof is the recent bloody events in Nagorno-Karabakh. The world does not care about who controls Nagorno-Karabakh. The most important thing is the politico- military alignment of the world powers. In conyrast to Turkey, which can deploy troops in Nakhchivan, Armenia must not agree to the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh. Only the Armenian army can do it,” he said.

Armenia will acquire the status of a reliable and strong partner, only if it adopts a clear foreign policy. “If you pursue a policy of ok's and making no  moves, being satisfied with the statements by the President and Foreign Minister, one day these countries will impose their stance on you,” he said.
