PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu’s statements that further Armenian-Turkish dialogue depends on Yerevan prove he does not differ PACE from the Turkish Parliament or an Ottoman sultan’s court, Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction Eduard Sharmazanov told NEWS.am.

Cavusoglu should remember the fact that the entire world welcomed the Armenian leader’s initiative to normalize relations with Turkey and official Yerevan’s further steps. “Cavusoglu’s statements are evidence of his political blindness and deafness,” Sharmazanov said.

At PACE summer session in Strasbourg, Mevlut Cavusoglu’s stated that further Armenian-Turkish dialogue depends on Yerevan. Everything depends on Armenia: everything is possible if Armenia repudiates the preconditions contained in the verdict of the Armenian Constitutional Court, Cavusoglu said. Not only he, but also the international community, believes no progress is possible in the region until Armenia vacates the occupied territories, the PACE President said.
