August 10, 2009 around 10 a.m. local time, a fire flared up in the building of Armenian Association of the Blind on Isahakyan street, Armenian Rescue Service reports.
Two fire teams and one fire aerial ladder were needed to extinguish the fire. Sergeant Mkrtchyan, fireman of the 8th brigade got a slight injury. He was discharged from municipal hospital once getting the necessary treatment. The fire was contained in an hour. The roof and roof covering burned down.
