Armenia is ready for any scenario, the Secretary of the RA National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan told the journalists, commenting on possible resumption of war in the Karabakh conflict zone. “However, I do not think that the war will break out,” Baghdasaryan said, adding that the Armenian army is armed forces are combat-capable.

As to the Azerbaijani provocation killing 4 Armenian soldiers, Baghdasaryan said, “We strongly condemn the incident that occurred June 18 on the contact line between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh.”

However, he deems there is no necessity to withdraw from the peace process. “Armenia adheres to the negotiating process and we should not allow such provocations,” he added.

According to him, Armenia’s actions are to provide 3 factors:

1 determination of the Karabakh’s status (independence or being a part of Armenia),

2 expulsion of indirect connection between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh,

3 provision of security guarantees.
