YEREVAN. – There has not been such a long-lasting hot weather in Armenia in the last 170 years.

Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring State Service Meteorological Center, Gagik Surenyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, three major heat waves were recorded in Armenia in July and August, and these warm fronts had penetrated into the country from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

As per Surenyan, major climatic changes are not forecast for Armenia for the next five days. The hottest days will be Saturday and Sunday, when the air temperatures will range between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius. 

“In addition, an increase is expected in the night temperature,” noted Gagik Surenyan.
