1.354 children living near manganese processing plant in Wenping Township (Hunan province, China), were diagnosed with excessive level of lead in blood.
Previous case involving 600 children was last month as a result of Dongling Lead and Zinc Smelting Co. emissions, Chinese mass media report.
The plant operations are suspended, and two managers — arrested.
