Azerbaijan’s active lobbying activities in the international agencies leading to adoption of resolutions unfavorable for Armenia is a growing tendency and arouses concern, Naira Zohrabyan, the Chairman of Standing Committee on European Integration, told NEWS.am. The MP commented on “The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” draft resolution to be voted in the UN General Assembly on September 9.

She also noted that Armenia should prevent adoption of such documents in the international agencies through joint efforts of the Foreign Ministry and National Assembly. Armenia should revise strategy on external propaganda and be more active, Naira Zohrabyan said. Armenia’s representations abroad should actively collaborate with lobbying organizations, as many European experts and politicians do not have right view of the Karabakh conflict and the situation on the whole.  

The draft resolution to be put to the vote at the U.S. General Assembly on September 9 particularly underlines the unacceptability of demographic changes in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and of destruction of cultural monuments, as well as the need for necessary conditions for refugees’ return.
