Georgian expert Soso Tsikarishvili considers the formation of Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkey confederation risky, “Akhali Taoba” daily reports.

According to him, it will be of no benefit to Georgia, moreover, it will create serious problems with orthodoxy.

The expert stressed Moscow’s silence on the matter causes doubts. It is possible the formation of confederation in is Kremlin’s interests and is in a scope of agreement between Russia and Turkey.

As NEWS.am reported previously, during the recent visit to Georgia, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili offered his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to establish confederative relations with Georgia. It is not clear what Saakshvili meant by the proposal, but the Azerbaijani side kept silent on the matter.

Noteworthy, official Baku has not been approving the appointment of Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan for months.
