At its 64th plenary meeting on September 7, the U.N. General Assembly is to discuss the Azerbaijani draft resolution on occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

The draft was to be discussed on September 9. It is Document #18 on the agenda. The same day, the meeting will discuss Issue #14, frozen conflicts in GUAM and their influence on international security, stability and development.

The Azerbaijani draft resolution particularly points out the need for refugees’ return and destruction of cultural monuments in the territories “occupied by Armenia.”

The draft contains a request to the U.S. Secretary General for submission of a detailed report on the implementation of the resolution.

Hay Dat offices, as well as Armenian diplomatic missions throughout the world launched activities to prevent the approval of the resolution. However, the members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) are expected to vote for the document.
