A new comprehensive school is to be opened in Askeran, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), before the new school year. The school has been named after Edmon Barseghyan, a Karabakh war hero.

The school building has been completed and will open its doors for children on September 1. A total of 620mln AMD have been spent on the construction. A gym and a sports ground are to be constructed at the second stage.

Specialists from Yerevan confirmed the building’s seismic stability. The building has a heating and fire control system as wall as a radio center.

This December this incomplete secondary school will be transformed into a comprehensive and senior high school, with laboratories and computer rooms, as well as workshops at the basement.
