Eiffel Tower bomb alert turned out to be false, after an anonymous caller phoned in a bomb threat. The police cordoned the area and Champ de Mars park, evacuating the tower and its immediate surroundings, but found nothing suspicious.
On Tuesday evening, the Saint-Michel train station was also evacuated following a similar threat. Later the police said it was a false alarm.
