NATO has balanced relations with all the three South Caucasus states and plans to develop them, Robert Simmons, NATO's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, told a press conference in Yerevan.

As to the possible deployment of a Turkish military base in Azerbaijan, he stressed that each of the NATO member-states has its own policy and NATO has no right to interfere. As regards possible deployment of NATO peace-makers in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, it is too early to speak of it – it requires consent of the conflicting parties and of the OSCE Minsk Group. However, NATO has not received such a proposal from them.
