Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad questioned official version of the September 11, 2001tragedy speaking at the UN General Assembly. The President said that the U.S. Government was involved in the events. Thereafter, the U.S. delegation left the hall. However, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and permanent representative of the U.S. at UN were not present.
“In identifying those responsible for the attack, there were three viewpoints. First, a very powerful and complex terrorist group, able to successfully cross all layers of the American intelligence and security, carried out the attack. Second, some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime. The third it was carried out by a terrorist group but the American government supported and took advantage of the situation,” he stated.
Ahmadinejad also touched upon the recent act of burning the Quran during mourning events. “This act and any other act which widens the gap and distances between nations is evil,” he stated.
