The rumors on Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) joining the opposition group are false, MP of the “Heritage” parliamentary faction Armen Martirosyan told the reporters on Wednesday.  According to him, the leader of Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan is engaged in major business affairs and is unlikely to join the opposition, taking into account Khachatur Sukiasyan’s outcome.

As it is known, Sukiasyan supported Armenian first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan at the 2008 parliamentary elections.

“Taking Sukiasyan’s experiance into consideration, I do not think that Gagik Tsarukyan will shift from a big businessman into such a political figure. It is hard to imagine this transformation. Besides Tsarukyan, there are other businessmen in Prosperous Armenia. The experience of “Orinats Yerkir” party (Rule of Law) showed that the “loyal OYK members”, who were engaged in business affairs, immediately joined the authorities and realized that they only like the power and should stand beside the pro-governmental circles,” Martirosyan stressed.
