The position of head of the Abovyan Tax Inspectorate, Armenian State Revenue Committee, has been vacant for over two months. A new head has not been appointed since the former head Ashot Baghdasarayan resigned, the Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.
According to the information at the daily’s disposal, Baghdasaryan is close to the Leader of Prosperous Armenian Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan. Two months ago it became clear the head of the Abovyan Tax Inspectorate was to be replaced. Tsarukyan tried to re-nominate one of his people to the post, but Chairman of the Armenian State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan told him he was unable to solve the issue and it was not up to him to decide who was to assume the office. As a result, Ashot Baghdasaryan handed in his resignation and left the taxation system, but the position has been vacant for already two months.
