Turkish Premier Recep Erdogan has reassured his “little brother”, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev of his love.

“His Excellency, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev and I held a signing ceremony of the Declaration forming a High-Level Turkish-Azerbaijani Strategic Cooperation Council. I stated at the ceremony that no other two states in the world are so close to each other as Turkey and Azerbaijan. In this regard, I would like to note that we attach outstanding importance to this Council, which is supposed to raise the bilateral cooperation to the highest level. Glory to God, it will be of benefit to our nations,” the Turkish Premier said.

According to Azeri mass media, the Turkish Premier also pointed out high importance of Turkic states’ summits, which aim at strengthening the ties between the fraternal nations speaking the same language, having common past and cultural values. “Closer ties between the nations afford good opportunities for our region with its numerous problems awaiting solutions,” the Turkish Premier said.

The recent summit in Istanbul proved to be a crucial step inaugurating the activities of the Council for cooperation between Turkic states, which was set up under an agreement signed in Nakhichevan in 2009.

Premier Erdogan said these steps will soon open up new horizons for the fraternal nations. He stressed that at his bilateral meetings with the heads of state the sides were unanimous about the necessity for expanding cooperation in all the fields for further consolidation of ties between Turkic nations.
