Azerbaijan will not unleash war, Russian political expert Matvey Ganapolsky told the reporters. He noted that military attack on Karabakh is a senseless move for Azerbaijan.  It is senseless from the viewpoint of Azerbaijan, as every war is also a defeat. Everyone has its economic interests, that’s why Azerbaijan is unlikely to unleash a war neglecting all the factors.

“Don’t prevent Aliyev from convincing his society that he is a successful and determined politician. Why do Armenians interfere with Azerbaijan’s domestic problems? Strong politician Aliyev explains its nation that he will punish anyone who will hamper his actions. He has a worked out strategy for his nation,” the expert said.

Ganapolsky offers to take into account the fact that the attack will be followed by strong response from the international community that cannot be neglected by Azerbaijan as well. “Russia entered Georgia, we have seen the consequences,” Ganapolsky noted, adding that Europe and U.S. do not back escalation of conflicts near Iran. Besides, Azerbaijan cannot take into account economic losses inevitable in case of military attack. “Territory of 3 m² is not worth losing three trillions. I think that Ilham Aliyev is a very clever politician and one of his best qualities is that he can count money,” the expert stated.
