It is difficult to forecast concrete resolution of Karbakh conflict under the conditions that the system of values the conflicts used to be solved is destroyed, but new one has not established yet, Director of Russian and Asian Programs Nikolay Zlobin told NEWS.am.
According to him, the only solution to the Karabakh problem would be its gradual exhaustion along with the formation of a new system, when it will be of no importance under what flag a country exists, the color of passport citizens have or what languages people speak.
The political scientist cited the example of the European Union, stressing Europe was covered with blood of interstate wars for centuries. “However, today the result is obvious, when once hostile countries were united into an alliance,” he said.
According to him, the European states’ experience may be instructive for the resolution of Karabakh conflict. Instead of being at war for flags and borders, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides should prefer a secure prosperous life for people.
“In short, under the conditions of the former values, the Karabakh problem has neither political nor military solution. However, the conflict may become a cooperation arena and not be considered as a conflict in a newly-established system,” he emphasized.
