The leader of New Times party Aram Karapetyan will participate in 2012 parliamentary elections and 2013 presidential elections, he told the journalists today.
Karapetyan did not rule out the possibility of a coup in Armenia, saying that it may be urged by Karabakh issue and social situation in the country: “Coup will be staged when the situation ripens.”
Commenting on forecast by Tigran Karapetyan that New Times party will participate in the forthcoming elections together with ARF Dashanktsutyun, Aram Karapeyan noted that someone has just spread such rumors. “We are ready to join anyone to create an opposition field that will function before the elections,” he added.
According to information of the head of visa and passport department at the Armenian Police Norayr Murdakhanyan, Aram Karapeyan has been residing in Armenia since 2005. “It turns out that a ghost participated in the 2005 elections instead of me. Unless anything changes in Armenia by 2013 and there is no coup, I will participate in the elections alone,” Karapetyan concluded.
