If Armenia recognizes NKR independence at the current stage of the negotiation process, it will drastically change the logic of the peace process, MP from the Republican parliamentary group (RPA) Artak Zakaryan told the reporters on Friday.

According to him, any move towards the recognition of Karabakh by Armenia has no sense but presents a threat, since the process has not reached its final stage.

“These measures will be justified in case all the steps of Armenia’s diplomatic arsenal have been taken,” Zakaryan underscored.

According to the parliamentarian, if Armenia recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh, there is no guarantee other states will follow Armenia’s lead. It is not ruled out Armenia will be left alone making the philosophy of the peace process absurd.

“Under this pretext, Azerbaijan will try to present the world community and try to substantiate Armenia is not ready for talks and adopted a non-constructive policy,” Zakaryan concluded.
