The Armenian-Turkish process is not over to be resumed, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated, commenting on the reports on Swiss “telephone diplomacy” aimed at revitalizing the process.
The process will be continued until peace is established in the Caucasus, the Turkish FM said. “We met with the Swiss and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers at the U.N. Armenia is our neighbor as well. Our position on the Caucasus is clear. Ankara will continue its efforts to normalize relations with Yerevan,” Davutoglu said.
Referring to anonymous sources, the Hurriyet newspaper reports that officials of the Swiss foreign office recently had phone conversations with their counterparts at the Armenian and Turkish foreign offices to sound out their sentiments on the Armenian-Turkish process.
