On October 5, the draft bill on NKR recognition proposed by Heritage party will be considered in the Armenian Parliament. The authors consider that adoption of the bill will contribute to international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh. If international community sees that Armenia has recognized Karabakh, many countries will follow the lead. Besides, the initiators of the document think that Yerevan’s official recognition of NKR will strengthen Armenia’s stance in the Karabakh peace process within the OSCE Minsk Group.

However, Heritage party’s arguments do not assure representatives of other parliamentary forces that consider initiative early and inadvisable. ARF Dashnaktsutyun has already stated that would not vote on the document. The party declared it cannot vote "for" due to its principle stance, whereas voting against the document stipulating Karabakh’s recognition will be misinterpreted by international community.
