Artyusha Shahbazyan, Secretary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) parliamentary faction, believes that Armenian political parties are not fully fledged, and the public regularly witnesses the dissolution or re-formation of parties,

“A party is a small state which must have counterbalance mechanisms. Solidarity within a party proceeds from external democracy. It is most important for parties to be able to differentiate relations between its members. Autocracy is destructive as well,” Shabazyan said. Parties must resolve problems within their ranks by means counterbalance mechanisms. “If we do not have the right party system, we will not have good state,” he said.

Vahe Enfiajyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), pointed out that the PAP has not a long history. However, it has remained committed to values and principles of democracy. According to him, the party’s regulations meet the Armenian Constitution, and the party has no problems with proposals, discussions or decisions.
